Interesting facts about tooth bleaching

Prerequisites

5 steps to a naturally white smile

1

The first step on the way to your perfect smile is a comprehensive consultation with our team. This is where your teeth are examined and the various treatment options are discussed.

2

The current condition of your teeth and gums is carefully assessed. We will discuss which option best suits your desired result.

3

First, a lip cheek retainer is inserted and your gums are protected with a light-curing gel. The whitening gel is then applied evenly to the teeth. It contains hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth.

4

The gel is activated by a special light source. This intensifies the effect and accelerates the whitening process. A total of four passes can be made.

5

Follow-up check-ups are very important so that you are satisfied with your results in the long term and can enjoy your perfect smile. We strongly recommend semi-annual dental cleanings and annual check-ups.

Reasons for bleaching

Tooth discoloration can be caused by a variety of factors, both external and internal. These discolorations make teeth appear yellowish or brownish, even if they have been thoroughly cleaned. Professional bleaching is an effective way to restore the natural whiteness of your teeth and give you a radiant smile.

Common causes of tooth discoloration

Consumption of colorants

Tobacco, tea, red wine and coffee.

Injuries

Accidents in which teeth are injured can cause color changes. This requires internal bleaching as a treatment.

Nutrition

Malnutrition can make teeth more susceptible to discoloration.

Natural ageing process

With increasing age, teeth can become discolored and lose their brightness.

Bleaching helps to remove these stubborn color pigments and restore the natural whiteness of your teeth without damaging them.

Power bleaching - in-office bleaching

Your teeth are gently whitened in a session lasting approximately 90 minutes. First your lips are held back with a special lip holder, then your gums are protected with a light-curing gel and finally a whitening gel is applied to your teeth and activated with our special lamp. This process can be repeated up to four times until the natural whitening shade is achieved and your teeth immediately look radiantly white and healthy.

Walking bleaching - Internal bleaching

This method is used after root canal treatment for darkly discolored front teeth. The whitening agent is inserted into the tooth for several days and the tooth is whitened from the inside. This process is repeated until the natural tooth color is achieved.

Home bleaching - your tooth bleaching at home

At the beginning of the treatment, we take an impression of your jaw to make thin, transparent and custom-fit trays. The first bleaching treatment is carried out together with you and you will receive detailed instructions to follow at home. The final result is only visible after a few weeks.

We will be happy to advise you on which bleaching method is best suited to your teeth. The appropriate treatment is recommended after in-office bleaching to ensure that the bleaching result lasts.
